Portland Pride 2019: We’re Proud to be Inclusive Year-round

This was Comcast’s 5th year participating in Portland’s Pride Festival, with Comcasters, friends, and family walking the parade with us.

As we celebrate Pride month, we keep in mind that diversity and inclusion is not just a one-time initiative or a program with an expiration date.  It is ingrained in our corporate culture.

Our goal is to become best-in-class for LGBTQIA+ inclusion among our employees, customers, and community.

“Participating in the Portland Pride Parade is just one way we can demonstrate our commitment to diversity, inclusion and our communities. And it’s a great opportunity to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community,” said Greg Geshel, Vice President of Human Resources.

Comcast honors all the monumental achievements made by the LGBTQIA+ community, and salutes all the brave individuals and allies continuing the fight. We strive to continue creating an environment where all employees are comfortable bringing their authentic selves to work every day.  A diverse and open workplace leads to an increase in creativity, innovation, and collaboration, which foster our leadership at the nexus of technology and entertainment.

With approximately 60,000 folks in attendance and over 170 parade entries, it was the largest Portland Pride Festival to date. This fun-filled, family friendly, and diverse event continues to grow.

We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Pride!
