Comcast Awards 25 Oregon/SW Washington High School Students

Collage of the class of 2020 participants in the Leaders and Achievers program

When high school students applied for Comcast’s Leaders and Achievers scholarship in October of 2019, they had no clue what was in store for the rest of their senior year. With the twists and turns leading up to their high school graduations, they’ve exemplified adaptability and perseverance.

Comcast is honored to award these 25 members of the Class of 2020 $2500 scholarships to help advance their education beyond high school. Leaders and Achievers recipients were selected because of their outstanding character, integrity, academic achievement and a commitment to community service. This year we awarded $62,500 in scholarships in Oregon and SW Washington alone.

“We are so proud to support these amazing students,” said Rebecca Brown, Director of Community Impact for Comcast Oregon/SW Washington. “They had to be creative about their graduations, so we got creative in how we celebrated them.” All scholarship recipients received a graduation-party-in-a-box with items to help them remember their accomplishment, complete with a rocket book, portable Bluetooth speaker and confetti.

Since 2001, Comcast NBCUniversal has awarded more than $33 million in scholarships to approximately 30,000 students to help them pursue higher education.
