While June 30th is the anticipated date for the soft opening of a new Xfinity store in Springfield, construction is slightly ahead of schedule, much to the delight of Jacob Mitchell, Comcast Oregon/SW Washington’s VP of Sales and Marketing.
We sat down to chat with him about the new store and what customers can expect.
Q: What’s the reasoning behind the new store in Springfield?
JM: Currently we only have one point of distribution in the mid-valley: our Eugene location which is one of our busiest Xfinity stores in Oregon. With Xfinity having so many awesome promotions, like our 3-for-1, where customers can get our unbeatable internet, along with our unlimited mobile and streaming service for entertainment for less than the cost of one line of mobile from our competitors, we saw a need to have more places to serve customers in a store.
Q: Do you see more stores in our future?
JM: Absolutely. The Springfield location will make our 18th Xfinity store in the Oregon/SW Washington region and we have a few more in the planning stages now! Xfinity has such a compelling story with our products and services. A physical location for our customers to come in and hear about the most reliable internet along with our mobile products and services, streaming service, and best-in-class content on Peacock, is the right investment to make.
Q: Tell me specifically about the new Springfield store?
JM: It’s an amazing location, right next to the busiest Starbucks in Springfield, so we’re expecting it to be very easy for the community to access. We just put up the window wraps which say, “Wait til you see what’s in store…” The date for the grand opening is yet to be determined, but we’ll do something big and fun to announce our presence. I’m sooooo excited to be a part of the community in Springfield!!!
