Tis the Season of Giving! Comcast Employees Donate, Volunteer, and Come Together to Support Our Pacific Northwest Communities

Season of Giving OR

The Pacific Northwest may be cold, but its people are not. Throughout November, nonprofits across Washington and Oregon saw Comcast volunteers prove how big their hearts are with over 50 different touch points. More than 500 volunteers and community members took pride in bridging critical gaps in social services and bringing people together during the holiday season.

Comcast employees and their families are always excited to join their communities to donate, volunteer, and come together in the spirit of giving. This season, Comcasters supported multiple causes, including, but not limited to:

  • Creating 500 no-sew chew toys for cats and dogs at humane societies in Portland, Oregon, and Bellingham, Washington.
  • Sorting over 3,000 lbs of food at the Linn Benton Food Share and Marion-Polk Food Share Inc. in Oregon and food banks in Spokane and Lakewood, Washington.
  • Hosting item and diaper drives for homeless or low-income families across Oregon and Washington.
  • Celebrating 42 Adelante Mujeres graduates in Forest Grove, Oregon, from the Digital Skills for Life (DS4L) program with goodie bags for all graduates and five gifted laptops.
  • Supporting Community Services Network’s multiple resource fairs in Multnomah and Clackamas County, Oregon, to help connect over 2,000 individuals and families to critical resources they need this winter.

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of our employees, residents, and businesses, we collected over 400 donations at Xfinity Stores. These included new clothing, shoes, and toys, which became special gifts for children at local Boys & Girls Clubs in the Pacific Northwest.

Comcast knows the value of volunteering is measured in more than dollars and hours. The spirit of volunteerism reflects the Pacific Northwest’s values of community involvement and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of our employees, customers, and all communities.
